At M.INK Tattooing on Main Street in Winnipeg, Mckala Farrell, our studio founder and lead piercer, brings meticulous precision to every facial appointment. Whether you’re sitting for a classic septum ring or a niche placement like the nasallang or austin bar, Mckala and our team, including Tayler, Violet, and Lex, ensure every detail is right before the needle moves.
We use only implant-grade titanium and surgical steel jewellery, single-use sterile needles, and follow strict OSHA-aligned piercing protocols.

3rd Eye

Placed centrally on the forehead between the brows, the 3rd eye is a surface piercing that makes a striking spiritual or aesthetic statement. Surface anchor technique is used for longevity and minimal migration risk.

Anti Eyebrow

A surface piercing placed on the upper cheekbone just below the outer corner of the eye. Elegant and subtle, the anti eyebrow draws attention to your cheekbones and frames your face from an unexpected angle.

Austin Bar (Rhino)

The austin bar, also called the rhino, passes horizontally through the tip of the nose without entering the septum or nasal cavity. It’s a rare, bold placement that rewards those who commit to the look.

Bridge

A horizontal surface piercing across the bridge of the nose between the eyes. The bridge requires flat facial anatomy to sit properly, we’ll assess your bone structure at consultation to confirm suitability.

Chin

Placed on the chin below the lower lip, chin piercings sit as single surface anchors or paired vertical placements. Subtle when understated, striking when stacked with lip-area piercings for a lower-face composition.

Eyebrow

Placed higher on the nasal bridge than a standard nostril piercing, the high nostril sits closer to the nose bone. It pairs beautifully with a standard nostril for a layered, curated nasal look.

Mantis Nostril

A pair of nostril piercings placed at the very tip of the nose, angled outward like the arms of a mantis. A rare and visually arresting placement that works best on specific nasal anatomy, we’ll advise you honestly.

Septum

Winnipeg’s most-requested facial piercing, and for good reason. A well-placed septum ring sits inside the “sweet spot” of soft tissue, not cartilage, making it surprisingly comfortable and easy to flip up when needed.

Septril

A hybrid piercing that exits through the septum and through the base (tip) of the nose simultaneously. The septril requires an already-stretched septum as a prerequisite and is one of the most advanced facial placements we offer.

Consult And Map
We review your facial anatomy, discuss placement options, jewellery style, and any contraindications. For complex placements like the nasallang or septril, this step is especially important.

Mark AND Confirm
We mark the exact placement point and check it with you in a mirror. You approve the placement before anything proceeds no surprises, ever.

Pierce AND Jewel
Single-use sterile needle, smooth and precise technique, implant-grade starting jewellery fitted immediately. Most facial piercings are complete in under 60 seconds.
Aftercare
- Protect Your Investment
Facial piercings heal differently depending on placement, tissue type, and your individual biology. We give you specific guidance at every appointment. The core rules are simple:
Do This:
- Rinse twice daily with sterile saline spray (NEILMED or equivalent). No soap, no rotation, no fussing.
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel after washing, cotton fibres snag and carry bacteria.
- Leave your starter jewellery in place for the full healing window, surface and facial piercings can take 6–12 months.
- Sleep carefully, avoid direct pressure on fresh facial piercings, particularly bridge and anti eyebrow placements.
- Schedule a downsize appointment at 6–8 weeks for piercings with longer initial posts.
Avoid This:
- Touching, rotating, or picking at your jewellery
- Submerging in pools, hot tubs, lakes, or open water
- Applying makeup, skincare, or ointments directly on or near a fresh piercing
- Changing jewellery before fully healed
- Sun exposure directly on surface piercings during the initial healing phase
